ICF’s IT Modernization division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, technology department, seeking a Senior Appian Developer to support upcoming needs with our federal customers.

The Team:

The GSA Appian Services team is responsible for supporting GSA’s acquisition system. We follow agile scrum and Kanban methodologies to deliver frequent software releases for both operations & maintenance and enhancements.

The Work

As an Appian developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of enhancements and defect fixes to the EASi application. You will collaborate with our business analysts, developers, and software testers to create solutions that meet quality standards and stakeholder needs.

  • Work with Product Owner and business analysts to validate functional and technical requirements.

  • Perform story scouting and create design documents to detail technical solutions.

  • Develop and unit test code changes and peer review other developers’ code.

  • Deploy code changes to relevant test/staging environments.

  • Support QA team by providing input on test scenarios and regression testing coverage.

  • Provide Tier III service desk support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the Production environment.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, story sizing, and demonstrations.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as Interface Control Document.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of recent hands-on experience with Appian development in Tempo and Sites, including configuring forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components.

  • 2+ years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business critical applications following Agile methodologies.

  • 1+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL scripting.

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and communication.

  • Green Card Holder or US Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Desired Experience:

  • Certified Appian Level 1 Developer (Certified Associate Developer). Certified Level 2 or Level 3 Appian Developer.

  • Experience developing Appian plugins or Java development.

  • Experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP Web Services.

  • Recent work experience on a software development project in a federal government setting.

  • Experience working in Enterprise Application integration (SOA, ESB) and n-tier client-server architectures.

  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and communication.
