Kemin Industries Quality Manager in Des Moines, Iowa
Kemin Nutrisurance is seeking a Quality Manager to support their North America region. The Quality Manager has oversight on the development, maintenance and imporvement of our Quality Management system in both our Iowa and Missouri plants. Leading an experienced, high-performing team, the ideal candidate will enjoy parterning with cross-functional teams to ensure that the quality of our products remains high and that we consistently deliver a quality product to our customers.
Maintain Quality Management System compliance
Remain current on all industry trends and regulations
Independently lead internal and external audits; report findings and corrective actions, review and summarize for leadership
Coach team to develop skills and leadership experience
Manage Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) process; review, approve, and provide dispositions and report to leadership, as applicable
Folllow, create and approve all procedures and SOPs/forms
Maintain and verify proper quality documentation
Provide final review and approve customer questionnaires
Review and approve Change Management requests
Review and approve raw material, finished goods, and packaging release
Running reports, inputting and reviewing specifications as defined
Perform lot tracing
Manage the disposition of nonconforming material and approving re-work
Evaluate and qualify potential new suppliers, in coordination with R&D and/or Purchasing
Responsible for reporting and deliver internal and/or external presentations
Provide input for budget planning, execute strategic plan
Partner with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups)
Follow and maintain an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable
Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years' experience OR Master's Degree with 3+ years' experience
3+ years of management experience preferred
Previous Manufacturing, Warehosue, Inventory, or other related discpline is a plus
Solid understanding and adherence to the Servant Leadership philosophy.
Proficient with MS Office, M3, LIMs, etc.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with SPC principles and practices.
Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct and perform method validation on lab equipment.
Travel up to 25% - will include trips to our Missouri plant, supplier and customer site visits
A post-offer background check and drug screen is required. Additional pre-employment requirements may be necessary based on position.
