Co-op services Credit Union Project Manager II in Des Moines, Iowa
CO-OP Financial Services provides technically superior products and services to financial institutions across the nation. We are seeking a talented Project Manager IIto be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling standard CO-OP Financial Services implementation projects that are larger in nature or span multiple products, in addition to medium sized projects that do not conform to standard implementation projects. The “Project Manager II” is well versed in the concepts and application of the PMI’s knowledge areas and works to enhance the use of those knowledge areas within the CO-OP Financial Services organization.
Create and execute project work plans, organize and control projects of large nature. This included projects from multiple product lines and new corporate initiatives. Must also be willing & able to work on small to medium sized projects that do not conform to the standard Implementations.
Apply standard and formal project management methodology; direct and manage project development from start to finish.
Define project scope, goals & deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stake holders.
Identifying resource needs and assign individual responsibilities. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Manage day to day operational aspects of the assigned project. Facilitates team meeting and client meetings effectively.
Holds regular status meetings with the project team. Keeps project team well informed of the changes that are occurring within the project.
Effectively communicate project expectations and deliverables to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to the customers. Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors. Resolve and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
Delivers engaging, informative, well organized presentations to Management/Customers.
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Understands COOP’s pricing model and billing procedures.
Possesses a general understanding with COOP products & systems.
Ensure that all project implementation related issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner. Coordinate problem resolution among customers, vendors and network, for systems related and post-production problems.
Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with the team members.
Reacts to project changes productively and handle other essential tasks effectively as assigned.
Perform or manage the effective hand-off of the completed project to the appropriate internal group.
Provide guidance and technical support to clients prior to and during the implementation process to ensure standards and best practices are met.
Participate in internal initiatives to define and improve project management standards.
Ability to host On-site project kick-off meeting for any New Customer.
Work to improve project management skills through the study and application of PMI’s Body of Knowledge and work to achieve PMI certification.
Participate in as a resource in other CO-OP Financial Services Project teams, as requested.

Two years’ experience in Project Management, preferably in the EFT or Banking/Credit Union industry
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
Problem Solving Skills: Identifies real issues quickly, to create innovative yet effective solutions to problem-solving and product/process enhancements, and implements them decisively. Strong analytical & problem solving skills required.
Communication Skills: Has excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to increase effectiveness when dealing with clients, management and staff
Software Skills: Excellent PC knowledge including basic word processing, WordPad (or) Notepad and spreadsheet skills. Familiarity with Adobe a plus.
Planning, Organizing and Facilitating: Is able to plan in a changing environment, to establish priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, set goals and contribute to organizational success by facilitating project and services completion to satisfy client’s needs.

Must possess ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to unexpected interruptions while still meeting required deadlines.

Transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance are also required, frequent overnight travel may be required.
Four years experience in Project Management in the EFT or banking/credit union industry. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 2-4 years experience with managing projects is required.
Experience in the EFT or banking/credit union industry is a plus.
Minimum ATM or POS knowledge required.
Knowledge of system analysis and basic telecom concepts strongly desired.
