  • Responsible for extraction and HPLC quantitation of target molecules from tissue samples in specialty crop breeding programs.

  • Responsible for maintaining plant germplasm collections in tissue culture under direction of the breeders.

  • Generate data reports from laboratory analyses and keep accurate data records.

  • Develop working protocols for optimizing biochemical screening of breeding populations.

  • Conduct pollinations and sample collection under the direction of the breeder.

  • Produce internal publications and reports covering laboratory and breeding research activities.

  • Trouble shoot and maintain laboratory equipment.


  • Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Plant Breeding, Genetics or Agronomy

  • Up to 2 years of practical experience in, HPLC, and lab maintenance, micropropagation/tissue culture

  • Proficient in HPLC quantitation and analysis

  • Experience with plant tissue culture

  • Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint

  • Experience with processing of samples for lab analysis

  • Working knowledge and familiarity with greenhouse growing and field growing conditions

  • High energy level, strong self-motivation and a high degree of problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and networking skills

  • Proficient in English, multilingual is a plus
