Responsible for extraction and HPLC quantitation of target molecules from tissue samples in specialty crop breeding programs.
Responsible for maintaining plant germplasm collections in tissue culture under direction of the breeders.
Generate data reports from laboratory analyses and keep accurate data records.
Develop working protocols for optimizing biochemical screening of breeding populations.
Conduct pollinations and sample collection under the direction of the breeder.
Produce internal publications and reports covering laboratory and breeding research activities.
Trouble shoot and maintain laboratory equipment.
Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Plant Breeding, Genetics or Agronomy
Up to 2 years of practical experience in, HPLC, and lab maintenance, micropropagation/tissue culture
Proficient in HPLC quantitation and analysis
Experience with plant tissue culture
Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Experience with processing of samples for lab analysis
Working knowledge and familiarity with greenhouse growing and field growing conditions
High energy level, strong self-motivation and a high degree of problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and networking skills
Proficient in English, multilingual is a plus
