As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework (https://portal.teamworks.wellsfargo.net/rc/CorporateRisk/Pages/riskmgmtfrmwk.aspx) and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
Operational Risk Assurance (ORA) independently tests that the Wells Fargo Operational Risk Program is conceptually sound and is designed consistent with management's strategy, regulatory expectations and industry best practices, and that the program has been fully implemented and continues to operate as intended.
The Operational Risk Assurance (ORA) Officer will execute assurance activities in accordance with the ORA annual plan and ORA policies and procedures. For each ORA review, these activities will include conducting walk-throughs, execute testing against review objectives and identifying potential findings. The ORA Officer will be expected to have a strong understanding of the components within the Operational Risk Program in order to apply his/her expertise to the assurance activities.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Experience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reporting
Knowledge and understanding of ever-evolving regulatory environments and governance processes
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to meet stringent deadlines
Other Desired Qualifications
A strong track record and business knowledge in financial services, preferably in direct operational risk management or internal audit roles.
Experience in: 1) executing complex testing strategies 2) evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls and/or 3) analyzing complex business and/or system changes to determine impact to the operational risk profile.
Expertise in one or more of the components of the Operational Risk Program (e.g. RCSA, Operational Risk Events, Scenario Analysis, Risk Appetite and Key Risk Indicators)
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Excellent judgment and decision-making.
Execution oriented, professional demeanor, self-starter behavior
An impeccable reputation for integrity, accuracy, consistency, big picture orientation and business acumen.
