Principal Financial Modeler in Des Moines, Iowa

We are seeking multiple strong technical Financial Analyst/Modelers with collaboration skills and a desire to learn. In this role you will be training on financial modeling to grow your knowledge and technical skills in this space. Upon completion of training, you would be placed on a team doing modeling work within our Financial Analyst community.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in the maintenance, preparation and analysis of financial models

  • Work with a variety of spreadsheets and the ALFA Pricing System to help deliver models to move our modernization strategy forward

  • Use your technical skills to do financial research and calculations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 1+ year of related experience

  • Intermediate Excel Skills (V-Look Ups, Pivot Tables, Data Summary, etc..)

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to continuously grow through intellectual curiosity. Comfortable collaborating with all staff levels.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical topics and results to various audiences.

Preferred Qualification

  • Advanced Excel skills (VBA, Macros, etc…)

  • Experience working with ALFA or similar modeling software

  • Experience with programming languages such as R, SQL, SAS, Python, etc…

We are open to hiring at multiple levels depending upon experience and qualifications.

Location

We are open to hiring for this role in our Des Moines, IA headquarters or remote candidates.
