Principal Experienced Software Engineer (python, cloud) in Des Moines, Iowa

Our Corporate System Support (CSS) business is looking for a Software Engineer to work closely with our financial business partners. We are looking to migrate our on-prem solutions to the cloud and you would be directly involved in helping our scrum team get there! This Software Engineer will have a lot of flexibility on how to work through this migration and take ownership of execution.
Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:
Learning and growing with the team as we seek to implement new technologies and practices, build in security and monitoring from the start, improve our coding practices, provide scale and performance capabilities, and evolve our engineering culture.
Help spark solutions and innovate through technology products to drive business outcomes for our cash management and accounting work.
Implement solutions to expand our business functions (development, configuration, security, integration, cloud/SaaS, vendor interaction, etc.)
Support new and existing applications through development (on-prem and cloud)
Providing informal leadership and mentorship to others within the team.
We’re looking for someone with:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience
3+ years of professional object-oriented or functional software development experience, Java highly preferred
Informal leadership or mentorship experience
Additional preferred technical experience:
Vendor integration and configuration
ETL, reporting and SQL
Cloud (AWS)

This role is available as a remote opportunity within the US, or located in our Des Moines, IA headquarters.
