As an Equity Trading Analytics Specialist on the Equity Trade Desk team, you’ll provide accurate and timely analysis of Principal Global Investors equity trading activities. You’re focus on the implicit and explicit trading costs of trading strategies and methods. In addition, you’ll provide accurate and timely responses to commission reconciliation process as well as reporting duties.
Types of things you’ll do:
Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of equity trading and market activity. Collaborate with Equity Trading and Investment Professionals to determine their needs and the most optimal delivery of data analysis.
Effectively utilize a variety of analysis and visualization tools to build, interpret, and communicate information reports and data sets to support the analysis.
Commission reconciliation and reporting. Work with outside vendor and counterparties to reconcile commissions on a monthly basis.
Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships. Gather information from counterparties to understand their order handling and execution policies. Stay up to date on industry trends, securities, technologies and regulatory issues.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably with a major in mathematics and/or data analytics
5+ years of relative experience preferred.
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity about financial markets and analytical skills in areas of high complexity.
Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity.
Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrates strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with attention to detail.
Demonstrates ability to work calmly, flexibly, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Specific knowledge and experience with modern data science toolkit, such as SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, R, Python, Excel, and Powershell is strongly preferred.
