Principal Data Scientist (Customer Analytics) in Des Moines, Iowa
As a Data Scientist, you will lead high economic impact projects that deliver insights using cutting edge data science methods and techniques. You will design, build, and iterate on business-driven analytics. You will collaborate with business leaders as well as analytic and technology team members to develop analysis plans and propel insights into action!
You’ll investigate trends in data, applying models, algorithms, and statistical tests to provide recommendations and change business processes. You’ll gain exposure across our business by providing consultation on priority analytic projects, as well as guiding more junior team members.
We’re seeking someone with demonstrated experience with customer analytics - supporting brand, marketing, and experience teams through customer segmentation, marketing mix, journey analytics, and a variety of prediction and forecasting problems. Other types of things you’ll do:
Drive the execution of applied high profile research projects by working with global, multi-functional colleagues across the organization to execute on analytic projects.
Apply appropriate data science methods/techniques to collect data, analyze, interpret results, and provide recommended actions.
Present methodology and conclusions of analyses to leadership, key partners and team members.
Maintain perspective on state-of-the-art impactful data science trends by staying abreast of external standard practices and methods.
Partner with leaders to determine other organizational efforts that can benefit from the application of data science methods and techniques, and support identified efforts.
Provide advice and guidance to junior team members on their projects.
We’re looking for someone with:
Master’s Degree and 6+ years related experience or PhD with 4+ years of related experience
Degree in a scientific field such as statistics, economics, engineering, sociology, or psychology required.
Knowledge of a wide range of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods. Experience in designing analytic project plans that align business requirements and analytic technique.
Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and data visualization
Previous experience working with marketing or customer experience analytics is highly preferred.
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is desired.
Ability to communicate a cohesive story illustrating insights that stem from analytic projects.
