Drake University, a private comprehensive university dedicated to quality teaching, seeks applications for a full-time (9-month appointment) tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance position. Primary teaching will be in the area of Corporate Finance with preference given to candidates who can teach Valuation and/or FinTech at undergraduate and graduate level. Normal teaching load is three courses (nine credit hours) per semester.
A PhD in Finance or a closely related field from an AACSB institution at time of appointment is preferred, but ABD candidates close to completion will be considered. All candidates must provide evidence of effective teaching and an active research program. Salary is competitive with peer schools and dependent on qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2020, and will continue until the position is filled.
The position will include teaching a range of courses in finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The primary area of teaching will be in Corporate Finance with preference given to candidates who can teach Valuation and/or FinTech. Normal teaching load is three courses (nine credit hours) per semester. The candidate will also be expected to participate in scholarship leading to publication in quality peer-reviewed journals, professional and program development, advising, outcomes assessment, and service activities for the university, college, and profession.
A PhD in Finance or a closely related field from an AACSB institution at time of appointment is preferred, but ABD candidates close to completion will be considered with a requirement of degree completion within one year of appointment. Applicants are required to be qualified according to AACSB standards.
