Humana Specialty Staff Oncology Pharmacist in Davenport, Iowa

Description

The Specialty Staff Oncology Pharmacist is responsible for creation, execution, optimization and maintenance of the oncology clinical programs at Humana Specialty Pharmacy. Utilizes broad understanding of technology and clinical landscape to develop strategies to help grow our pharmacy and payer agnostic strategies. The Staff Clinical Pharmacist work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Specialty Staff Oncology Pharmacist develops, maintains, and/or operationalizes oncology clinical strategies related to centers of excellence, staff clinical education, and clinical contract implementation. Partners in the development of clinical education for members and specialty pharmacy associates. Collaborates and develops proposals for research projects. Supports trend management by improving upon and growing oncology strategy at pharmacy. Collaborates with various stakeholders within the organization to share best practices and integrate services. Lead strategic discussions with internal and external stakeholders and participates in clinical trainings when appropriate. Acts as the oncology clinical subject matter expert for all clinical support functions at Humana Specialty Pharmacy. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Must have an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state

  • Ability to communicate effectively to varying levels within an organization

  • Minimum 3 year experience in oncology pharmacy

  • Completion of PGY2 oncology residency

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • PharmD

  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to stay on schedule. Brings an attention-to-detail approach (strong tactical execution)

  • Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and operate effectively within a large and complex organizational structure.

  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience in developing clinical programs related to field

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations on clinical and business topics

  • Experience training non-oncology health care professionals to care for cancer patients

  • Ability to assimilate, analyze, draw conclusions, and make recommendations from data points.

  • Enthusiasm and motivation
