Job Summary:

Trane in Davenport, IA is hiring for a Service Estimator II to join our team. In this role, you will be will be working with Trane Account Managers and building owners providing estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements. This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our Davenport, IA location. Flexible work from home options are available.

Responsibilities:

  • Create proposals for service agreements and projects in support of our Service Account Managers.This includes mechanical services, controls services, digital services, turnkey and rental solutions.

  • Responsible for establishing cost estimates consisting of materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, etc., to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.

  • Develops detailed scope of work for service projects and agreements, including system sketches, scope specifications, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal documents, subcontractor quotes, etc.

  • Responsible for the take-off and pricing of EBS products, non-Trane equipment and materials, and other consumables and products to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.

  • Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that may occur on various projects. Determining if alternates or optional scope may be beneficial to develop and offer to customer, along with savings or additional cost for those options.

  • Develops the scope narratives for subcontractors. Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors and subcontractors through quotations for materials and services.

  • Responsible for holding job pre-bid meeting with Account Managers to review scope, strategy, etc.

  • Responsible for facilitating post-sales transition meetings to turnover sold project to operations.

  • Supporting inside sales activities including quick quotes, tech leads, tech quotes.

  • Manage and maintain customer information and strategic plans to include activities in Salesforce CRM, such as account, location, and contact management, account and win plan development, and pipeline management.

  • Team with sales account managers to develop customer asset plans, capex budgets, diligence reports, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in engineering, construction, business, or relevant experience in the technical service industry or trades.

  • Relevant experience: minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of service or trade experience, HVAC Technician experience, or technical sales experience.

  • General knowledge of the construction or technical services industry is preferred.

  • Financial and business acumen and project management experience is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment required.

  • Strong computer skills, knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft applications is required.

  • Must be able to travel to customer sites on occasion and possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:

  • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Base Pay Range: $65,000 - $93,000 /year
