The Quality Metallurgical Specialist is responsible to connect Customer quality requirements to the shop floor across all shifts. The incumbent will be required to ensure compliance to metal integrity standards (i.e. conductivity, thermal processing, quench, etc.).
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Requires disposition (PASS / SCRAP) in process material for surface quality, metal integrity, traceability, and other key quality requirements;
Serve as Quality help chain for Teams;
Be able to provide interpretation on multiple Customer quality requirements across all product categories;
Evaluate and disposition of processing records for compliance to Metallurgical standards;
Drive Net Promoter Score (NPS) through effective communication and problem solving of Customer issues;
Possess in depth knowledge of industry surface standards.
Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word);
Possess the ability to engage with employee at all levels of the organization;
Possess the knowledge to identify and help resolve process-related problems;
Excellent organizational and project management skills;
Ability to take the initiative, provide leadership, meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
Possess excellent problem-solving skills with "out of the box" thinking;
Possess and / or gain knowledge of Arconic Business System (Lean Manufacturing) principles and Human Performance tools;
Possess and / or gain working knowledge of Shop Floor, Unisys, and other operating systems related to material production;
Possess and / or gain expert knowledge of surface quality requirements;
Possess and / or gain working knowledge of aluminum manufacturing processes.
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
Previous experience in a union work environment;
Minimum of 1 years of experience in an aluminum manufacturing or heavy industrial environment with a basic understanding of different aluminum alloy compositions;
Minimum of 1 year of experience with the application of lean manufacturing principles in a manufacturing setting.
