Cobham Mission Quality Engineering Supervisor in Davenport, Iowa

Description Cobham is seeking a Quality Engineering Supervisor to manage and lead Quality Engineering responsibilities within its Air-to-Air Refueling division plant at their Davenport, IA facility. The qualified candidate will oversee Quality Engineers within the Hose & Drogue IPT as well as oversee inspection personnel within the IPT. The successful candidate will ensure that superior quality products of Cobham Mission Systems is provided to its customers within the Aerospace and Defense industry. Key Responsibilities: * Interface with all CMS Davenport Engineering disciplines and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues. * Provide technical input on quality and contractual issues to internal stakeholders and external customers. * Lead IPT Quality Engineering Resources * Provide work direction to IPT Inspection personnel * Serve as Quality Representative on Configuration Control Board as necessary. * Chair Material Review Board and/or Inspection Review Team as Quality Representative. * Serve as Quality Representative on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). * Meets goals and IPT related Quality KPI goals including, but not limited to CDPPM and Escapes. * Provides guidance and keeps employees informed of policies and operational changes. * Serve as Quality Representative on corrective action teams. * Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. * Analyze production and service limitations and standards, and recommend revisions of specifications when indicated. * Review design concepts and technical documentation. * Perform necessary tests with equipment and effectively document test results. * Formulate or help formulate quality assurance policies and procedures. * Compile and perform various reports and audits. * Development and modification of procedural documents. * Assist with the implementation of quality standards and regulatory requirements. * Conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools. * Perform all operations according to prescribed safety and environmental principles. * Actively promote and enforce adherence to S|H|E rules and procedures. * Identify and effect change to reduce risks of harm and minimize waste and resources used. * Communicate to employees, visitors and customers that health and safety and a concern for the environment are values for Cobham. * Promote and facilitate incident and near miss reporting. * Interprets engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer's expectations. * All other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: * BS in an Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical, Etc.) * 6+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control * 5+ years’ experience in measurement techniques * 5+ years blueprint reading and interpretation * 5+ years’ experience in a leadership capacity * GD&T experience required * Ability to operate measuring and gauging equipment. * Experience in inspection techniques/methods/equipment. * AS9100 or MIL-STD experience. * Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. * Experience with Root Cause Analysis Tools, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC). * Due to export compliance, must be a US Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the US. * Effective verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to make independent judgments regarding technical issues. * Ability to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in the Oracle Business Environment System * ASQ Certification 1. CSSBB - Six Sigma Black Belt 2. CQA - Certificated Quality Auditor 3. CQE - Certified Quality Engineer 4. CQM - Certified Quality Manager * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. * Ability to work in an office, lab, and indoor industrial environment * Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment while simultaneously handling multiple responsibilities. * Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) experience. * Experience with Boeing Defense and Lockheed Martin Aero. * Quality assurance related experience in a design and manufacturing environment. * Familiarity with regulatory requirements, Government/Military contracts, and Aerospace industry experience. * An advanced Degree or MBA * Project/Program Management Experience Cobham's values of Trust, Talent and Technology have driven us from our launch in 1934 by Sir Alan Cobham, an aviation innovator, to becoming a global leader in state-of-the-art aerospace and defense systems.
