Robert Half is partnering with a large manufacturing company who is looking to add two Planner Leads to their team due to continued growth. As the Planning Lead, you will develop production schedules for a series of work centers in accordance to the master production schedule. You will also assist with managing inventory so you can optimize capacity with minimal inventory to ensure on time deliver to customers. This Planner Lead is a more operational than procurement focused position, so ideal for someone with capacity planning or shop floor planning experience as well as experience with setting planning parameters on parts. This role is a member of Sr. Leadership and thus looking for someone who has the desire and capability to manage a team and processes.

Planner Lead Job Duties?

-Achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, managing WIP inventory levels, optimizing capacity and managing supply and demand within the Supply Chain for make parts.

-Oversee Make Planners and Inventory Planning processes to ensure effective management of the order book through to production and delivery.

-Ability to read and understand drawings, and what it takes to make the parts they are planning. Provide input on engineering change with regard to material impact assessments suggests cut in dates Participate in process on make/buy decisions.

-Coordinate the Strategic planning of the planning BOM & routing structure and lead efforts in job variance analysis to ensure BOM accuracy

-Conduct finite capacity planning and scheduling of internal manufacturing operations in accordance with the needs of the MPS, producing & releases internal work orders schedules & monitor performance to plan.

-Continuously reviews and maintains all master data elements associated with the plans for every part on their make parts. Understands when business parameters change that may require planning element changes.

-Analyzes supply and demand and releases internal works orders, balancing OEM, and aftermarket/spare requirements & inventory.

-Understand how to establish the appropriate scheduling technique to control capacity at work centers. (Finite scheduling, Infinite scheduling, Forward scheduling, Backward scheduling )

-Develops and manages a PFEP: Sets all make planning strategies for lot size, lead times, stocking strategies, shrinkage, yield, phantoms, storage locations.


Planner Lead Requirements:

-Bachelors degree and 10+ years of related experience with 2+ being in a supervisory capacity

-Experience building component and tracking discreet orders in a fabrication/shop setting

-3+ years of experience with ERP and MRP

-Strong skills in manufacturing planning, master production scheduling, production definition, inventory control, MRP, and capacity planning

-Strong user of MS Excel to include proficiency in extraction of information to pull reports, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, conditional formatting, and advanced formulas

-Deadline oriented with excellent communication and analytical skills

-Experience with Oracle or other large ERP system is highly preferred
