Function: Manufacturing Engineering
Title: Manufacturing Engineer - 72571
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Davenport Works, located in Davenport, IA you will lead OFP manufacturing engineering activities as it pertains to Articulated Dump Truck Assembly Operations. In addition, you will:
Provides support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Investigates, gathers and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.
Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.
Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.
Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.
Develops and implements plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System. Designs operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.
Participates in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency.
Implements new manufacturing processes and technology.
Modifies existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans.

What Skills You Need
Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a final assembly environment
Experience using manufacturing engineering tools for layout, process and work measurement design
Experience working with Continuous Improvement, Safety and ergonomic in Manufacturing
Experience with shop floor incentive pay systems
Experience with line design process
Experience effectively interfacing with the wage and salary workforce
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development
Experience with JDAAT MES systems
Experience working in a union environment
Experience with torque tooling
- Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing/Mechanical/Agricultural/Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
