Humana IT Organization Effectiveness Lead (Work at Home / Virtual Optional) in Davenport, Iowa


The Organization Effectiveness Lead role will work in coordination with Humana IT's Leadership Team and Human Resources partners to develop thought leadership and solutions for change management, team development, and high-performing teamwork.

Humana's IT organization is undergoing a multi-year transformation journey to develop a cloud-based and platform-centric technology ecosystem while transitioning to Agile ways of working. Humana IT's Organization Effectiveness Lead functions as an internal consultant and change manager to assess and enhance the overall performance of the IT organization through our multi-year transformation journey. The role works closely with the IT Leadership Team and Human Resources partners in the creation of strategies and solutions to promote high-performing team and effective collaboration practices, impacting positive change in capability and behavior at individual, team, and organization levels.

The Organization Effectiveness Lead will act as a leader in the development of an IT organization-wide approach to change management and organizational readiness, using organization development and change management frameworks. The role is responsible for "connecting the dots" on the organization's key strategic change initiatives to develop and drive execution of a unified change leadership strategy and action plan.

Duties include:

  • Acts as a strategic thought leader in change leadership for IT; advocates and influences leaders to adopt approach to change management.

  • Creates approach and vision for change management within IT organization to enable IT's transformation objectives. Develops the overarching change agenda and helps leaders cascade and drive to the envisioned state.

  • Elicits, documents, and articulates the organizational changes (people, process, tools) that impact associates' daily operations, and creates a robust change management plan and roadmap to create clarity and adoption, and promote high performance.

  • Curates the change plans for all key initiatives and interweaves them to develop a unified change agenda for the IT organization.

  • Partners with the IT organization's leaders and key stakeholders to enable the culture required for a successful change implementation.


  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proven experience in leading or managing changes through digital or technology transformation

  • Two or more years of program / project leadership experience

  • Exhibits executive presence and political savvy

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in leading change at an organization level

  • Must be passionate about human behavior and organizational capabilities

  • Proven high learning agility and tolerance for ambiguity

  • Strong collaborator and approaches strategic partnerships in a co-creation manner

  • Demonstrated strengths in consulting, problem solving, communications, interpersonal skills, and big picture thinking balanced with attention to detail

  • Excellent presentation skills (written, visual and verbal)


  • MBA or other Advanced Degree

  • Professional certification in a change management framework

  • Understanding of Humana's culture and established credibility in effective change management


  • Location: Louisville preferred

  • Travel: up to 10% travel
