Hardware Engineer

job summary:

Randstad Engineering Solutions is looking for a qualified hardware engineer to join our team to help improve board designs by isolating failures in field returns. In this position you will get exposed to various hardware designs used in avionics systems as well as the embedded software contolling those systems.

In this position you will use various tools (scopes, logic analyzers, dedicated test systems, etc) to isolate failures and propose solutions resulting in more robust designs. You may need to drill into embedded software or work with the software team as part of this effort. -- duplicate and isolate documented failures in a lab environment -- propose and implement solutions (hardware and/or software) resulting in a more robust design -- be a self-starter who works well with little supervision

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

Ability to work with SW team to collaborate in debugging board failures

Ability to work with the SW team in isolating board failures

Excellent ability to test and debug Circuit Boards (e.g., use a multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and other hardware test equipment)

Ability to read and understand schematics, both analog and digital

Ability to look at source code (C and/or Assembly) to understand general functionality of software

A working knowledge of embedded microcontrollers, low level hardware drivers, and debugging software

Experienced in embedded C/C++ and assembly
