Per Mar Security Services - Fire Alarm Inspector

The primary function of this position is to provide reliable, high quality customer support through on-site maintenance, inspection and preventive services performed on all fire & security equipment.

  • Perform fire protection inspections and preventive maintenance services on client Fire Alarm Systems.

  • Maintain professionalism with customers ensuring problem resolution in a timely manner.

  • Communicate effective and organized technical information and support to clients.

  • Utilize resources and materials to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.

  • Monitor and assure the progress and completion of assigned tasks.

  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.

  • Be proficient at and train other less senior inspectors how to follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.

  • Other duties as assigned and pertinent to the position.

Position Requirements

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Must be able to obtain specified license to perform work in the security industry according to the rules and regulations prescribed by the State in which the branch operates.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

  • Must be able to obtain NICET level certification within a prescribed time frame.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Degree in electronics or related field is preferred.

  • Previous experience preferred in inspections and fire alarm systems is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have a strong knowledge of fire and electrical codes to ensure safe and proper inspection of systems and devices.

  • Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Must have be able to effectively communicate with clients.

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Strong customer service focus/skills a must.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to handle multiple tasks.
