Accountemps is searching for a Staff Accountant for an opportunity with a company in the Financial Services industry. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Davenport, Iowa area, this is an opportunity that's sure to challenge as well as reward effort.

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

• Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

• Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

• Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision

• Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

• Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Requirements

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• High attention to detail

• Current and relevant ERP system experience
