Corteva Agriscience Predictive Agriculture Intern (Dallas Center, IA) in Dallas Center, Iowa
Grow what's next. Grow your future. Corteva Agriscience sponsors a variety of internships in agricultural research across many field research centers in North America including sites focused on activities related to plant breeding and predictive agriculture. The Predictive Ag intern at the Dallas Center research station will have the opportunity to obtain diverse experience in field and growth chamber data collection and analysis, customer interaction and development of a literature review.
The research center houses plant breeding research activities focused on corn and soybean breeding, as well as research to understand the potential of new cropping systems. Thus the candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, but focus on their own research project in the cropping systems space. Specifically, we are researching methods to offer growers new crops and tools to help them manage their farms more sustainably and profitably, especially with the changing climate. These methods include cover cropping, double cropping and production of non-traditional crops in the corn belt.
A successful intern will complete a literature review of cover cropping systems for temperate commodity agriculture, develop and execute on a field day for our customers, and assist with planting, harvest and data collection in our experimental plots. This intern position provides excellent experience that can be applied to full time positions in the industry, or in preparation for additional graduate level training in the plant sciences.
