POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Finance maintains subsidiary ledgers, journals and worksheets for financial and statistical reporting, assists CFO with budgeting, forecasting, financial report preparation, audit preparation and preparation of month-end journal entries and other functions as needed. Responsible for overseeing Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DETAILED DUTIES:Maintains journals and subsidiary ledgers, prepares supporting worksheets and journal entries for financial and statistical reporting.Prepares supporting schedules of assigned Balance Sheet Accounts for audit purposes, and reconciles monthly.Responsible for Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.Performs monthly payroll journal entries.Reconciles general ledger accounts associated with payroll.Prepares financial statement with assistance from CFO.Maintains Fixed Asset module and supporting schedules quarterly.Familiarity of patient accounting issues as they impact financials to include:Charge determinationReimbursement/Contractual allowance determinationBillingCompletes audit preparation under the supervision of CFO.Prepares and submits monthly Mercy financial and clinical reports.Assists the CFO with Capital and Operating BudgetsFacilitate monthly department financial reporting and meetings.Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Regional Health Services of Howard County.Performs other responsibilities as requested by the CFO and/or Administrative Team.Demonstrates Guiding Behavior Expectations in all interactions with all parties.Regular and reliable attendance is expected.Attends departmental in-services and meetings as required or requested.Assists in CQI activities and process improvements and Compliance activities.Back up to the CFOPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Four-year Bachelor's degree. Preferred in Accounting or Finance.Hospital finance experience preferred.Experience in Public Accounting preferred.Regular completion of continuing education for professional personal growth.Must have demonstrated competence in word processing (preferably Word), and other applications (Power Point, Outlook).Demonstrated good interpersonal skills.Ability to work well with other individuals at various levels within the organization.Healthy stress management of regular deadlinesFlexible hours during the monthly closing cycle or other special projects.Strong analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.High degree of initiative.Must have an advanced understanding and use of Excel.Ability to work with a database report writer.Understanding of statistics, statistical method highly preferred.For more information, or to apply now, you must go to the website below.
