Effectively communicate Pipeline Safety Management System (PSMS) information to internal and external stakeholders by administering publication of all technical manuals and department websites in the Natural Gas Safety System (NGSS) team.
SALARY RANGE: $53,050 - $79,650 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Administer the editing process of all NGSS technical manuals and make and publish all associated changes.
Maintain NGSS web pages.
Perform in-depth research in support of NGSS initiatives.
Manage engineering and standards documents and version control of those documents.
Communicate changes to internal and external parties.
Organization and logistics of department meetings.
Technical publication liaison to local operations.
Track, document, and organize changes to documents.
Schedule and participate in committee meetings.
Document feedback and apply changes to documents based upon stakeholder input.
Lead projects and initiatives as assigned.
A minimum of three (3) years of technical writing or business writing experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work experience within the utility industry is preferred.
Experience in Web design and management is preferred.
Familiarity with document management systems such as FileNet is preferred.
General knowledge of Black Hills Energy procedures, federal rules and regulations as well as state rules affecting operational compliance.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
Under supervision, perform work that is technical and varied in nature in accordance with federal regulations: Assists in the development of integrated solutions to resolve complex business issues.
Strong communication, presentation, database, and computer skills.
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship through effective written and verbal communication.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
Travel within geographic region (generally Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming) and occasionally out of the geographic region may be required including overnight and/or weekend travel.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

The employee may occasionally (less than 33%) be required to: stoop, kneel and crouch. Employee must be able to operate routine office equipment including computers and similar equipment. Must be able to routinely perform this work for an average of 6-8 hours per day and occasional extended hours as necessary. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or continuously to lift, carry, push, pull or sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Work environment: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Must be capable of up to 10% travel (e.g. 2 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.
