Technician I (Purification – GMP)

The Technician I (Purification – GMP) performs preparatory work and basic manufacturing functions for the production of oligonucleotides and aides the Purification group with general laboratory maintenance.
Job Specific Essential Functions:
Maintains accurate and detailed product and instrument records
Maintains inventory control by performing appropriate transactions
Complies with the requirements for an ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 environment
Adheres to safety regulations, lab SOPs, and contamination controls
Performs lab cleaning and decontamination protocols
Communicates with all levels of peers and management
Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values
Performs other duties as assigned
Position Specific Essential Functions:
Performs preparatory work for Scientists as prescribed.
Uses custom software packages to complete tasks
Loads pre-sorted small scale HPLC machines with oligo samples.
Performs processing tasks such as column desalting [all scales], manual sample extraction [custom scale], and combines [all scales].
Quantifies and samples oligos for quality control tests.
Performs oligo dry-down [all scales] utilizing all dry-down platforms available.
Packs IE HPLC columns with appropriate resin
High School diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s degree preferred
Proficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required
Previous laboratory and chemical handling experience preferred
