We have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Clinton, IA, who will work in conjunction with the production team and our customers to improve product quality. The individual that we bring on board to lead this function must be good at building positive work relationships both internally and externally.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.

Formulates and manages the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems pertaining to the Quality function.

Develops, implements, communicates, and maintains a quality plan to bring the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements.

Site Safe Quality Food Practitioner.

Responsible for triple certification FSC/SFI/PEFC.

Effectively interacts with production and development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products.

Develops and implements local Crisis Management Policy.

Considers the application of environmental health and safety standards.

Works with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.

Defines quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.

Sets up and maintains controls and documentation procedures.

Serves as Liaison with customers’ auditors to ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.

Establishes standards of service for customers.

Ensures compliance with national and internal standards and legislation.

Considers the application of environmental health and safety standards.

Monitors performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.

Ensures tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated.

Compiles technical and management systems reports.

Ensures tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.

Organizes and manages quality assurance functions in close cooperation with customers and Company’s Management team (Member of Management Team).

Ensures Quality staff carries out tests and checks.

Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers training.

Collates and analyzes performance data and charts against defined parameters.

Manages and maintains the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes, and finished goods; evaluates, and establishes and maintains approved supplier list.

Sets QA compliance objectives and ensures targets are achieved.

Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company.

Maintains awareness of business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.

Provides assistance to the General Manager, as requested.

Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions.

Performs all duties in accordance with established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties.

Willing to work flexible hours as necessary.

What You Need to Succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of job related experience with 4-year degree in Business Administration, Quality Management, Engineering or related field.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Effective communication skills at all business levels internally and externally. Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Effective facilitation and presentation skills.

Must effectively facilitate formal and informal training.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.

SQF Practitioner and HACCP training required.

Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, pass Farnsworth-Munsel 100 Hue Test. Operate score bend, gloss meter, rub tester, slip tester, open force, densitometer, good mechanical aptitude.

Knowledge of cartons. Perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
