Description:

Position Purpose

The CT Technologist prepares radiographs of any portion of the human body to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Ages of patients served range from newborn to geriatric.

What You Will Do

  • Assists physicians and/or radiologists in specialized procedures.

  • Ensures care and safety of patients being radiographed.

  • Provides patient, family, and nursing units education on diagnostic testing.

  • Utilizes critical thinking in daily and emergent assessment of proper exam protocol.

  • Assesses each patient for proper prep/scanning procedure for each exam ordered.

  • Reviews chart for lab values, drug allergies, glucophase protocol, and iodine contraindications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have an active Iowa Department of Public Health Permit to Practice (IDPH).

  • Must be an active American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

  • Must be on the active Registry in Computerized Tomography (RT) ® (CT) within time frame designated by department director as a CT Technologist.

  • Must have a minimum of 1-year experience working specifically in the field of Radiology preferred.

  • Graduate of a 2-year accredited Radiology program

  • Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.

  • Working weekend, holiday, and rotating shifts as well as on call is required.

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
