Job Summary:
Practice professional nursing within educational setting to provide appropriate health services for students
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in nursing practices/procedures
Ability to act/react in emergency situations
Knowledge of health related resources available to students/families
Organizational skills
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Supervise, monitor, dispense and document medication prescribed for students and as needed or over-the-counter medication
Assessment of illness necessitating absence from school
Assist students with hygiene needs
First aid for injury
Coordinate individual student health care with appropriate staff
Communication with parents regarding health needs
Maintain confidential student health information
Assist students with diabetes in monitoring and calculating insulin
Qualifications:
Current license as a Registered Nurse
