Centrum Valley Farms IT Support Technician in Clarion, Iowa

The IT Support Technician (ITST) is responsible for installing and maintaining computer and infrastructure hardware, software and supporting all associated end-users.

The ITST reports to the Chief Information Officer. They perform installations, maintenance and repair work on any computer related equipment that supports the business from laptops, desktops, point-to-point and access point systems, personal communications equipment (cellular & SIP phones), tablets, printers, routing and switching devices, anything WIFI enabled or with a LAN port, and any piece of computer related peripheral or software an end user would be using. An ITST technician is required to perform all of the mentioned tasks while providing a high level of customer service to the user and/or department. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure premium implementation of and access to technology services and resources for the company.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software code, and is secure
  • Familiarity with all enterprise hardware, software and device operating systems in use

  • Troubleshoot all hardware, software and device operating systems

  • Provide orientation to new users of existing technology

  • Train staff about potential uses of both new and existing technology

  • Provide individualized training and support by request

  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and general computing resources

  • Properly secure all platforms with a randomized password, never leaving default passwords

    1. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
  • Troubleshoot all technology issues

  • Participate and maintain help desk platform of required repairs and maintenance

  • Provide network access to all staff

  • Install end-user computing devices, including setup of hardware and loading of corporate image/software

  • Provide and reset passwords as directed

  • Monitor factors of security as determined by CIO

  • Accurately utilize DHCP, DNS, and other core AD services

  • Advise CIO of potential security issues and/or change in security status

  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate

  • Ensure data is stripped, backed up and secured before disposal

  • Install and maintain mobile code platforms such as Envoy, EHS LMS, etc.

  • Maintain file server permissions as directed by CIO, including group-based DACs

  • Properly setup users in LoB applications such as Exchange, Remote Apps, etc.

    1. Perform other related duties as required

    Qualifications:

    The incumbent should have proficient knowledge, or will be trained, within the following areas:

  • Computer hardware and software and device operating systems

  • Computer networks, network administration and network installation

  • Troubleshooting methodologies to perform root cause analysis or break/fix efficiently

  • Malware and best security practices

  • Microsoft ecosystem technologies such as AD, Exchange, RDS, Azure, etc.

  • Basic Palo Alto, Cisco and Ubiquiti device setup, troubleshooting and administration

  • An understanding of general agricultural and egg specific programs and operations

    The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:
