Never encounter a boring day when you work with us. Our activities and tasks vary with the agricultural season cycle.

In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant operations and field activities that will evolve with each season throughout the year. You will be responsible for setting up and monitoring highly automated equipment for various processes such as harvest, conditioning, treating, and packing.

During peak season (September-April) the Cherokee production plant runs a 24/6 or 24/7 schedule based on demand. Shift hours can be 8 to 12 hours depending on which schedule is utilized. Then we stagger down shifts the remaining months of the year.

Responsibilities - WhatYou Will Do:

How will you help usgrow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

  • Harvest activities such aspreparation, receiving, pre-cleaning etc.

  • Conditioning activities such asgravity operation, packaging, palletizing, etc.

  • Return and rework activities.

  • Field management activitiessuch as scouting, field maintenance.

  • Warehousing activitiesincluding forklift operation, collecting samples, pooling, etc.

  • Gathering data for future aidin continuous improvement projects.

  • Various other duties asassigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Requirements- Who YouAre:

  • You have a High School Diplomaor GED.

  • You have a high attention todetail.

  • You must possess a validdriver’s license, so you will be able drive company vehicles when neededand may be required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in thefuture.

  • You are willing and able towork in a variety of areas (field, plant, warehouse). You enjoy workinghard and staying busy.

Preferences:

  • 1+ years of on-the-jobexperience in manufacturing, production, operations, agriculture orrelated filed OR an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field ofstudy.

  • Strong working knowledge oflean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement andStandardized Work.

  • Knowledge and/or experience ofgeneral agriculture, production agriculture and production plantoperations.

  • Knowledge of field equipment,agriculture equipment and fork trucks.

  • Computer systems and toolsknowledge.

  • Good verbal and interpersonalcommunication skills.

  • Teamwork skills.
