Job Summary

Provides complimentary technical support to a department during the summer months or part-time during academic year. Performs various duties dependent upon the department in which the position resides.

Job Responsibilities

The intern will be assigned to assist professional staff with providing computer tasks, asset management and documentation under the direction of a professional Data Center Delivery lead. The intern will be responsible for the following scope of work duties:

  • Assisting Data Center services staff on a variety of tasks and projects

  • Validating secure access and physical controls

  • Asset management and inventory

  • Data Center labeling and cabling

  • Information Technology storage room organization and clean up

  • Update technology designs and documentation

  • Providing support in various levels of technical and non-technical staff

Basic Qualifications

  • Student must have awareness of data center infrastructure (server, storage, switches, routers, cable management, etc.)

  • Student should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to research and understand technical documentation, and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources.

  • Able to interact effectively with management, staff and other IT personnel, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities

  • Must be currently enrolled as at least a sophomore and majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology or related IT discipline.

  • Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
