This role leads an enterprise team of telephony professionals responsible for telecommunications strategy and operations at Collins Aerospace. Road map, planning, design, implementation, and day-to-day support of telecommunications platforms and contact center solutions that support both internal and customer facing business systems. Manages the team supporting multiple on prem and hosted voice solutions. Works with other IT groups to install, maintain, and manage the telecommunications systems as a component of the overall infrastructure. Participates fully in the establishment of telephony technology vision and strategies. Drives consolidation and standardization of numerous disparate legacy voice systems. The successful candidate must be comfortable managing team members in multiple locations.

This individual can sit at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with business leaders to gather functional requirements and works with service partners to set strategic vision.

  • Must be able to demonstrate firsthand knowledge and experience with industry trends and developments in telecommunication technologies. Discuss new products and upgrades with vendors and sales teams.

  • Partner with various stakeholders and leaders of the organization’s groups that rely on contact centers and other voice services to achieve their objectives and ensure they are able to meet their SLAs.

  • Provide leadership and requirements for refresh, upgrades, improvements, new systems, and preventive maintenance.

  • Act promptly to resolve issues as they arise, coordinating with other Infrastructure teams as required to see the issue through to completion.

  • Oversees staff responsible for order processing and invoicing management of circuits orders for WAN, Mobile and Voice.

  • Develop and implement plan to mitigate EOL systems. Consolidate numerous on prem and hosted solutions to a simplified portfolio of service offerings.

  • Liaison with facilities regarding site Move/Add/Changes and Mergers/Acquisitions/Divestitures. Support staff members responsible for site facilities infrastructure including management of structured cabling contractors.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years prior experience. In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Must be willing and able to travel 10%-20% of the time

  • 7+ years hands on experience leading voice communications teams supporting large scale deployments (5,000+ phones, 50+ seat contact centers) Cisco and Avaya phone platforms and call centers.

  • Must have experience with at least one of the following voice systems: Cisco voice and contact center, Avaya voice, Converge One or Intrado/West

  • Experience overseeing teams responsible for facilities infrastructure builds and remodels.

  • Knowledge of structured cabling for LAN.

  • Familiarity with contract documents (contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, specifications and change orders)

  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels of the organization

  • Experience managing a remote staff.

  • 5+ years prior leadership experience.
