Job Summary

Rockwell Collins’ Platform Hardware team is looking for a strong technical electrical engineer with extensive complex analog and mixed signal circuit board design experience. The Platform Hardware team is responsible for the design of electronic avionics systems used for data concentration and advanced IO processing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility would be to support new product developments

  • Requirements capture and review

  • Execution of complex analog and digital IO based circuit board design including schematic capture, part selection, and simulation

  • Oversight of complex printed circuit board layout

  • Implement designs that are optimized for a balance of cost, manufacturability and testability

  • Implement designs that are in strict compliance to DO-160 and DO-254 standards

  • Execute and lead board bring-up & design verification testing in laboratory environment

  • Review and provide oversight of product designs and engineering documentation

  • Prepare and present project technical information to peers and internal management

  • Mentor new engineers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline, preferably Electrical/Electronics Engineering

  • Must have recent, hands-on analog design experience

  • Experience acting as a technical lead on projects

  • Avionics design experience with adherence to DO-160 and DO-254 standards (preference).

  • Must understand good printed circuit board layout and stackup design practices

  • Must be very experienced in a lab environment performing hands on troubleshooting with complex engineering equipment (e.g. Oscilloscopes, Analyzers, Function Generators, etc).

  • Must be experienced with the use of EDA tools for schematic capture and signal integrity analysis (i.e. DxDesigner, Hyperlynx)

  • Must be able to multitask and effectively manage time well.

  • Ability to lead and contribute to the compilation of engineering documentation.

  • Must exhibit strong drive to complete tasks on time, be self-motivated

  • Highly attentive to details and quality of work output

  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills

  • This position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30am to 4:30pm workday, or beyond a 40 hour work week.
