  • Structure, manage and administer an assigned portfolio of management liability corporate insurance programs.

  • Provide financial and regulatory oversight of a captive insurance company, including quarterly financial reporting and annual regulatory reporting.

  • Management and supervision of a select number of third party administrators (TPA) to ensure captive is operated in an optimal fashion.

  • Research and resolve complex insurance coverage questions from divisional staff and insurance brokers.

  • Prepare and maintain insurance team budget and bill payment process.

  • Manage accounting entries around insurance program management.

  • Prepare underwriting submissions and applications for insurance programs.

  • Prepare and deliver insurance renewal recommendations to management.

  • Execute and help administer claim payments for insurance programs.

  • Communicate monthly financials to key parties for review/discussion.

  • Manage surety bond renewals between brokers and divisions.

  • Responsible for daily management of captive insurance company operations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or related profession or equivalent experience.

  • Five years of insurance experience in a similar role within a corporation, insurance carrier, broker or TPA.

  • Analytical ability and problem-solving skills to understand and resolve complex insurance issues.

  • Organizational skills required to manage multiple programs.

  • Interpersonal communication skills needed for daily interaction with internal and external business associates.

  • PC proficiency (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPCU, ARM, ACII, or other insurance designations/continuing education.

  • Risk management experience.

  • Working knowledge of captive insurance solutions.

  • Experience working with financial reporting software.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment.

  • Occasional travel to meet with insurance carriers, brokers and TPAs, or other business needs.
