Senior Systems Engineer - Air Combat Training Integration
"I feel the need...the need for speed!" If you like the movie "Top Gun", you will love the Test and Training Instrumentation (T&TI) engineering department in Mission Systems.
The T&TI engineering department is responsible for the design, analysis, test and certification of Air Combat Training systems. We solve the challenges of next-generation pilot proficiency training so they can “Train as they Fight”. We field Test and Training range systems with state-of-the-art technology in cryptography, datalinks, navigation, communication, networking and command and control. We specialize in highly accurate, highly secure solutions for U.S. DoD customers. We are a system of systems development team that designs, integrates and supports some of the largest, most complex solutions offered by Collins Aerospace.
This Senior Systems Engineer will execute efforts for a team of systems and software integration engineers to develop solutions for the Test and Training Instrumentation department . The integration team brings together and checks out builds for a complex system including both embedded and desktop applications, aircraft interface, and customer systems integration. The team is focused on a future of DevSecOps deployments to our customer facilities and enabling automated system testing.
The responsibilities of this role include hands-on lab integration work, configuration management, and driving predictable program performance. This engineer should be highly motivated, have a passion for meeting commitments, and flexibility to support a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Experience in the following areas of responsibility
Breadth in systems and software engineering principles with a focus on hands-on lab work
Understanding of networking principles (OSI layers, protocols, etc.)
Proficient with Python or real-time embedded software utilizing C/C+
Contributing to collaborative team cultures that drive predictable program performance to consistently meet business and customer commitments
Communicating effectively to a host of stakeholders across the technical spectrum, including customers, program management and senior leadership.
Familiarity with Linux RPM packaging and deployment
Background in Cybersecurity
Experience developing in the Agile framework
Familiarity with DevSecOps
Preferred applicants will currently hold a Secret (or above) security clearance, or have held one within the past two years
