Air Combat Test & Training Instrumentation (T&TI)

Collins Aerospace is a pioneer in the development and deployment of innovative communication solutions for government applications. T&TI Engineering is responsible for all product line and engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of ACT systems (just like Top Gun), maturing products from concept phase through accreditation and factory production.

Job Responsibilities

The T&TI Software Development Engineering team is looking for a dynamic Senior Software Engineer. The candidate will be a participant in the full software development life cycle on an Agile software development team with the responsibility of developing and integrating software. Development includes desktop applications in Java to command and control new technologies and integration into a system of systems. If you enjoy a collaborative team environment, problem solving on complex systems, and have experience with networking and developing on Linux systems, we are interested in your skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and over 5 years of relevant experience

  • US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance required

  • Software development experience (minimum 5 yrs) including Java

  • Adaptable to change, enjoys learning new technologies, and contributes to a positive work environment

  • Ability to work well with others in a professional team environment

  • Motivated self-starter with strong analytical skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Full-stack development capabilities

  • Agile, Git, and/or JIRA experience

  • Experience developing closed network applications

  • Experience in military applications meeting government security or safety standard

  • Automating Software Deployment for military applications
