POSITION SUMMARY

Work Well Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures, which ensure the delivery of, care to the Corporate Health clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Is aware of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of department or hospital administrative staff.

  • Purposefully conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the hospital’s commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity.

  • Plans, organizes delivers and evaluates nursing care.

  • Assists in determining priorities and in guidance of other nursing associates in the delivery of care.

  • Demonstrates good clinical judgement in assessing and observing patients and initiates appropriate actions and interventions.

  • Skilled, organized and efficient in performing required nursing activities.

  • Alert to potentially hazardous situations.

  • Resource for what to do in an emergent situation.

  • Participation in Quality Assurance.

  • Maintain a positive relationship with members of administrative and management groups, medical staff, and co-workers.

  • Facilitate problem solving.

  • Communicates with other members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Reports office visits and physical outcomes to company representatives.

  • Reviews the regulatory agencies in order to assure that policies and procedures of the assigned area meets or exceed the prescribed standard.

  • Maintain Health records on all our patients.

  • Keeps supervisor informed of activities and accomplishments.

  • Responsible to make changes to improve works environment and in-patient care.

  • Constantly updates knowledge and maintains competency by reviewing professional literature and attending educational offerings.

  • Participates in change and influences the future events.

  • Plans innovative services to enhance the environment.

  • Supports and works within current policy and budget guidelines.

  • Applies current cost containment concepts.

  • Appropriate interpretation and implementation of hospital policies with area assigned.

  • Complies with state, federal and local laws.

  • Effectively complies with voluntary accreditation as accepted by the hospital.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS

Education

Work Well Registered Nurse is a graduate from a State approved nursing school and demonstrates satisfactory academic and clinical preparation. He/She has a current State of Iowa Registered Nurse License or a temporary Iowa permit.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Previous acute hospital setting or Physician office setting

  • Must have a current Iowa License.

  • Computer knowledge.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Spirometry training.

  • Audiometric testing.
