Retail Payment Systems (RPS) Risk Management’s Execution function has a RCA Consultant position open for a Risk Management Strategy Execution Process Owner.

The position is an independent contributor leadership role – as the individual has various responsibilities.

Project execution owner: owns business requirements, solution and technical design with risk management, fraud, operations, marketing, and technology – inside RPS, throughout USB Enterprise teams, and with external vendors.

  • Own the requirements and test design for a specific set of risk management projects

  • Test design / execution: owns and executes the design and execution of pre-launch testing and post-launch validation - end-to-end for any project owned

  • Code the decision engine system – using the software tools

  • Utilize databases for prospective and historical data - to design and test system processes in production and test environments (e.g. Triad, ICS, SAS, SQL, mainframe)

  • Facilitate approval through all governance processes – as the subject matter expert – through compliance, change process control, etc.

Scope of work can span across all consumer and small business credit card risk management functions – but this specific position concentrates on the day-to-day operations of the Triad system that manages over-limit and delinquent authorizations and Credit Line Management (Increases/Decreases) for consumer and small business accounts in RPS (across all products and channels).

This position has the responsibility – for the Triad system – to architect, code, test, and maintain new transaction processes – ensuring customers’ transactions execute risk management strategies properly.

This is a “hands-on” position – where the individual builds and maintains the system – and interacts with business partners to achieve the desired customer treatments through real-time Triad processes.

Project and test design should ensure the project delivers the intended results, in compliance with internal policies and audit/regulation requirements.

This role is based in Horsham, PA preferred with Milwaukee, WI secondary, elsewhere in the U.S. Bank locales as a remote position, third.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Seven to Ten years of experience in an applicable risk / operational management environment – with some level of demonstrated database proficiency (e.g. SQL, SAS, Oracle, etc.)

  • Applicable professional certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Detail-oriented person that focuses on accuracy - with a curiosity to understand how complex bank systems work interactively – and a desire to continuously improve them

  • Thorough understanding of Payments operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls – especially as they relate to Risk / Operational Management functions

  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact Payments.

  • Considerable experience interacting with risk management systems for underwriting, account management, line management, collections, and Enterprise data/products

  • Ability, willingness, and desire to interact across small and large teams – leading the agenda for complex projects through cross-functional project teams

  • Ability to interact with large databases (e.g. SAS, Oracle, mainframe, etc.) and research data to identify issues, ensure control processes are intact, and resolution opportunities

  • Strong process design/facilitation, project management, and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to write complex requirements and to explain them to various levels (senior management through programmers)

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications for typical project management functions

  • A desire to solve problems – find the root cause of problems and opportunities
