Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) is currently searching for aResource Planning Analystto join the team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position monitors changing Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) requirements and manages CIPCOs resource adequacy (generation capacity) obligations and counterparty agreements. Duties and Responsibilities: *Resource Adequacy and Planning:*](http://www.cipco.net/)

  • Participate in MISO working groups in order to monitor capacity market developments and impact to CIPCO.
  • Prepare load forecast and resource data submittals to MISO.
  • Monitor CIPCOs resource adequacy position.

New Resource Procurement:

  • Participate in the cooperative-wide Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) process that is used to determine resource plan additions.

``` - Determine necessary capacity purchases or sales and prepare contracts. - Monitor CIPCOs counterparty list. Recommend new counterparties and coordinate the development of new master agreements.

Data and Analysis:

  • Lead the effort to develop CIPCOs avoided cost paid to qualifying generators.
  • Perform data driven analysis, including use of CIPCOs Business Intelligence tools, to support strategic decision-making across the organization.

``` - Monitor new technologies and determine how they may fit into CIPCOs power supply.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or other related field with a minimum 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in contract development and resource planning, including economic evaluation preferred
  • Willingness and ability to collaborate in a team environment and work cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrates a high level of accuracy
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Is curious and looks for creative ways to solve problems and answer questions
  • Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs
