This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

  • Manage daily activities of the Cedar Rapids complex Food Safety Management System.

  • Coordinate and verify activities conducted in the Cedar Rapids complex follow/support the Food Safety Management System.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the plant Food Safety, Quality Management, and Document Control System (FSMS,QMS & PT).

  • Serve as an active member of HACCP teams, up to and including PCQI and Team leader where appropriate. Implement the HACCP/Food Safety team’s recommendations in the facilities.

  • Assist plant departments with leadership and training to continuously improve the quality and safety of products the facility manufactures.

  • Conduct plant quality and food safety audits. Participate and lead customer and third party audits including GFSI and Regulatory visits.

  • Instruct plant employees on food safety and quality assurance practices.

  • Take an active role in plant efforts to improve operations through process thinking.

  • Support food safety prerequisite (PRP’s) and Operational Prerequisite (oPRP’s) including a guiding role with pest control housekeeping.

  • Develop and maintain Master Manufacturing Plans (MMPs) for the Cedar Rapids complex.

  • Schedule internal audits for multiple ADM facilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of systems and processes to assure quality and safety of products and services.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities. Must be able to accomplish results by working effectively with others.

  • Strong digital literacy. 5+ years work in plant manufacturing setting (preferably in food industry) with major involvement with a QMS system.

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Willing and able to spend time in plant (i.e. walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces) to understand and audit the process.

  • Capable of working in extreme temperatures.
