U.S. Bank Data Compromise Coordinator in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
The Global Core Payments Management Team has responsibility for ensuring that Elavon, our partners and our clients are in compliance with card scheme operating rules and regulations.
This role is responsible for supporting Elavon global clients and partners through the management of a possible data compromise event. This includes facilitating reporting requirements to regulators, card schemes and industry working groups. This position will ensure that Elavon client support associated with a data security event is maximized. Success is defined by customer retention combined with financial and reputational risk mitigation.
Essential Job Functions
Works with merchant customers, independent sales organizations, third party processors and valued added resellers in all English-speaking Elavon markets, including United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, England and Ireland, to manage risk exposure associated with possible data compromise events.
Works with card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Interac) and industry agencies (MAC, FFB, UK Payments) to communicate data compromise events and monitor industry trends.
Coordinates Payment Card Industry (PCI) forensic investigations with approved third-party assessors.
Maintains tracking of open data compromise events to ensure that investigation and remediation deadlines are satisfied.
Presents business case for reduced financial exposure from the card schemes and provides support for client appeals.
Establishes and maintains appropriate case files ensuring adherence to record retention schedules.
Develops and prepares reports, records and performance monitoring mechanisms informing management of operational activities.
Works with card schemes providing suggestions to improve data compromise investigation and case management processes.
Administers claim filing and operational support associated with third party financial assistance programs offered for eligible small and medium size customers suffering a data security event.
Maintains awareness and provides support of global data compromise activity in non-English speaking Elavon markets, including Europe and Latin America
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of experience in project management activities
In depth knowledge of Elavon’s products
5 years acquiring industry experience
Knowledge of card scheme operating rules and regulations
Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance requirements and validation methodologies
Understanding of emerging technology in the payments industry associated with data security
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent client relationship and customer service skills
Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work with all levels of the business, including Senior Leadership
