Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our Avionics Business Unit Reliability Engineering team. Our work supports the development of innovative aviation electronic solutions for one of the world’s leading Aerospace companies. We are in a new era within Aerospace Reliability Engineering, as new technologies require a new approach to addressing long term reliability. This position will afford the opportunity to develop assessment methodologies and pursue research toward fulfilling this need.
The individual will be a member of our Reliability Engineering Team, which supports Air Transport, Business, Regional and Military aircraft products and programs. Primary responsibilities will include:
Performing Reliability Assessments, which includes performing reliability predictions to establish MTBF estimates and component failure rates. These analyses utilize the 217Plus methodology and include utilizing field performance of similar equipment when applicable to increase accuracy of the assessment.
Performing Derating analysis, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEAs), High Intensity Radiation Fields (HIRF) and Lightning analysis, Testability analysis and Maintainability Assessments.
Performing Accelerated Stress Testing (AST) and developing Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) profiles. These testing efforts include HALT/HASS, and the development of test procedures and reports, overseeing and conducting testing, conducting failure review board meetings, and defining corrective actions.
Performing Neutron Single Event Upset susceptibility analyses.
Developing and/or researching new reliability engineering analysis and test methods for use with sub-90nm technologies, including multi-core processors, SoPC's, various memory technologies and FPGAs.
Requirements and Abilities:
Experience in all of the aforementioned primary job responsibilities
Effective oral/written communication skills
Effective interpersonal and team skills
Knowledge on how to prepare and present technical information to peers, to all levels of internal management, and to external customers
Ability to perform detailed analyses on complex systems
Candidates for this role should possess a Requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree or three years of prior relevant experience.
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
