Associate Director - Connected Domain Solutions, Mission Systems

Connected Domain Solutions provides integrated solutions and capabilities aligned to the vision of Multi-Domain Operation (MDO) and Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2). The JADO vision for command and control is, JADC2, the art and science of decision-making to achieve operational and informational advantage in the competition continuum. It is the natural extension of C2 across domains and Service components. The Department of the Air Force’s JADC2 vision calls for connecting distributed sensors, shooters, and data from all domains to joint forces, enabling coordinated exercise of authority to integrate planning and synchronize convergence in time, space, and purpose.

The successful candidate for the Connected Domain Solutions, Associate Director role should provide the leadership in the development and sustainment of Connected Domain Solutions business plan, architecture and products within the business. The candidate should help decompose customer requirements, develop an architecture and roadmap of capabilities/products. You will help prioritize investments to align with the strategic plan and help drive technical execution of development projects. The candidate must be a deep technical expert in cross domain system of systems architecture that include modeling of requirements and functions, system verification and validation. The successful candidate be a Strong Communicator, with the ability to work across the organization, with various disciplines including Engineering, Program Office, Operations, Quality and Business Development. Primary Responsibilities:

  • SME for Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2)

  • Ownership of the JADC2 roadmap and technology plan

  • System of Systems Decomposition

  • Participating/Driving/Chairing system and component Design Reviews

  • Final signoff of major design reviews

  • Assessing design maturity and technical risk.

  • Using experience to assure Lessons Learned are Identified and applied.

  • Mentoring engineers

  • Providing presenters with guidance during review preparation

  • Providing technical consultation and guidance.

  • Resolution of technical issues

  • Provide and lead specific staff training

  • Contributes to ensuring the protection of Collins IP

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 12 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Qualifications include a strong knowledge of system of systems architecture and systems engineering, technical leadership, communication, requirements management, software/hardware integration and technology development.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements ​
