Department: Registrar's OfficeLocation: 115 Gilchrist HallContact:Phone: 319-273-2244Number of Positions: 1Pay Grade:Starting Hourly Wage: $19.79Position Funding: Appropriated FundsAppointment Type: Full-Time; 12 MonthsSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., (occasional evening and weekend events)Shift: First ShiftPrimary Function:Under general supervision, evaluates student records to determine eligibility requirements for graduation; advises and counsels students on individual academic progress; provides registration, certification and monitoring functions for the University, Veterans Administration, and Department of Education for enrolled veterans, national guardsmen, reservists and qualified dependents receiving educational benefits from the Veterans Administration; interprets and coordinates requirements with Deans, Department Heads, faculty and administration; keeps up-to-date on annual changes to curriculum and major/minor policies and programs; manages functions using the student information system (SIS); and recommends possible improvements in programs and policies.Position Requirements:Five years clerical office experience of which at least three years of experience* should be in an Admissions or Registrar's Office, or in an office which routinely works with student academic records.*Education may be substituted for experience as follows: Two months of general post high school education equaling one month experience; and one month of concentrated secretarial/clerical training equaling one month experience.Preferred Qualifications:As required by federal regulations, we request information from job applicants to monitor and report on equal employment opportunity/affirmative action programs.
