IDEX General Accounting Manager in Cedar Falls, Iowa

THIS IS A CEDAR FALLS ON-SITE POSITION WITH HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE

Primary Function:

Oversee general accounting functions for Viking Cedar Falls, including general ledger, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Responsible for adherence to IDEX and GAAP policies for audit and SOX compliance. Builds a highly effective team through performance management and team development. Identifies and carries out process improvement initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily/Weekly:

  • Maintain the general ledger account structure, including reviewing and authorizing requests for new accounts, and establishing them in the JDE for all Viking Industrial entities.

  • Review credit worthiness of customers and set or approve credit limits, selling terms, and release of customers on credit hold.

  • Oversee and assist with application of cash collections to customer accounts.

  • Maintain the account matrix between JDEdwards and OneStream.

  • Oversee the payroll accounting process, including reviewing and approving weekly payrolls and all payroll related accruals and accounts.

  • Oversee the Concur expense reporting process, including serving as a back-up processor and approver.

  • Approve all fixed asset activities, including fixed asset additions and annual fixed asset audits.

  • Provide valuable feedback and coaching to employees

Monthly/Yearly:

  • Act as the owner of controllership for Viking Cedar Falls, and liaison for the foreign sites.

  • Ensure the Viking businesses comply to IDEX policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate all correspondences and requirements with internal/external auditors including annual SOX compliance documentation, anti-corruption and R&D tax credit audits.

  • Prepare quarterly SEGROD reports for review with IT.

  • Review monthly accounts receivable, cash collections and past due forecast, including reviewing variances to actual results.

  • Enforce credit and collection policies and procedures, per IDEX Corporate requirements.

  • Ensure customer credit files are maintained in compliance with IDEX policy.

  • Oversee the ES&A budget process, salary and fringe benefit related items, headcount and capital expenditures.

  • Coordinate the OneStream reconciliation process including uploading balances, reviewing risk ratings, assigning new accounts, role security and monitoring timeliness of completion.

  • Coordinate annual financial reporting to IDEX and internally to Viking senior management.

  • Complete all miscellaneous governmental reporting required for the business unit including, but not limited to Multiple Worksite Reporting and Quarterly/Annual Manufacturer’s reports.

  • Maintain controllership over Charitable Contribution review, including coordinating with Corporate Compliance for approval.

Other:

  • Provide guidance to general accounting and accounts receivable personnel and processes, including performance reviews and goal setting.

  • Responsible for all Sarbanes-Oxley compliance issues related to revenue recognition, general accounting, accounts receivable, credit and financial reporting functions.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Finance or related field.

  • CPA or CMA or MBA a plus.

  • 3-5 years’ progressive accounting experience.

  • Credit, collections or related experience a plus.

  • Experience in international credit, including letters of credit, bonds and drafts a bonus.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

  • Broad based financial reporting and GAAP/SOX compliance experience.

Other Special Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Must be able to research and resolve problems with customers and accounts receivable system and invoices.

  • Ability to provide direction and establish priorities for direct reports as well as provide proper feedback and critical evaluations of personal and departmental performance.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

  • JDEdwards and OneStream experience a plus, however may be obtained based on training provided.

  • BNA Fixed Asset Reporting experience a plus, however may be obtained based on training provided.

  • Archer Risk Management experience a plus, however may be obtained based on training provided.

  • Working knowledge of Dun & Bradstreet credit reporting and online system.

Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex.

  • Perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Must have the ability to effectively and constructively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.

  • IDEX Executive Office, mainly the IDEX Finance and Payroll Teams.

  • IDEX Internal Audit Team.

  • Frequent contact with Viking Regional Sales Managers, International Sales Team and Customer Service personnel.

  • Viking Pump International Site personnel.
