Job Summary

Assists visiting specialists in providing patient care in accordance with established methods and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assembles records and equipment needed: Lab and Radiology results are made available for Physician review.

• Obtains and records patient vital signs, medication list & symptoms/complaints.

• Oversees patient room assignment while providing for patient safety.

• Assists with procedures and exams.

• Schedules follow up appointments & makes referrals as needed.

• Sets up future Labs and Radiology exams with appropriate departments as ordered.

• Provides data for operations report.

• Assures that charges are made for services rendered.

• Demonstrates professionalism at all times.

• Provides patient education as indicated.

• Demonstrates the ability to perform patient care functions relevant to the need and behaviors of all age groups.

• Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.

• Participates in opportunities that enhance personal and professional growth.

• Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

• Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.

• Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.

• Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.

• Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• Certificate from accredited school.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers, patients, families and employees of the organization.

Position Requirements, Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Certificate from accredited school for Certified Medical Assistant.

BCLS certification within three months of employment.
