SummaryiUnder the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Provides design support for existing products, develops, and introduces new products and equipment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.iCreate and maintain Solid Works models and detailed drawing that identify critical details.iDocument design intent for parts and assembly using dimensions and tolerancing. Drawing views and dimension will be detailed to ensure accurate consistent manufacturing.Weldment drawings will show weld symbols, size, and location of welds. iLocation of parts listed in BOM and critical dimensions will be identified. Supportive referenced dimensioning will be utilized for verifying accuracy and quality of weldment for production and quality personnel. First Article of InspectionsBOM maintenance, job order entry and verificationCreate new designs development and modifications to existing product.Assist with designing, building, and evaluating prototypes and fixtures.Product testingCreate and determine cost for trailers.Able to complete projects with limited supervision.Verify dimension and material for parts and assemblies.iAdhere to Engineering Standard Practices, Lean Principles, company policy and guidelines for attendance and safety.Maintain retention of master production drawings.Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.Contribute to design process and recommend possible solutions.Effectively communicate in professional manner with other departmentsUtilize experience to train new employee for various manufacturing principles and design process.Works closely with RandD, Production lines, Assembly, FAB, Mill and Saw leaders, as well as dealers, suppliers, and customers on details of product solutions on what problems may arise.Job Skills RequirementsKnowledge of Solid Works and manual drafting practices and techniques.Maintain documentation control using ECN, ECR, ERP and EPDM software.Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.Practical engineering work experience in manufacturing environment.Excellent oral and written communication.Continuous Improvement experience.Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing processes.Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.iEducation RequirementsRequires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and two plus years of related experience.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
