As a Transportation Project Manager, you’ll work directly with our clients, while managing a team of design engineers, planners, and technicians. During the beginning phases of a project, you’ll listen intently to our clients and identify the proper approach to design fit-for-purpose solutions. Through our flexible management approach, you’ll be empowered to carve your own path to professional growth through innovation and continuous improvement.
This role requires dedication to the continuous growth of the firm and your assigned team members through leadership and business development. You’ll contribute directly to future growth by playing a large role in project sales and the pursuit of new work. Pursue and contribute to a variety of transportation projects, varying widely in complexity and scope. This is a hands-on role leading the planning, design, and delivery of projects from start to finish.
Team leadership for the delivery of planning and design projects.
Client liaison with a focus on relationship management and business development
Supervise the work of medium- to large-sized staff of professionals, designers and planners, as needed.
Meet client expectations and keep projects within budget by managing your team’s pace and productivity.
Maintain a high standard of quality, creativity, and collaboration within your project team.
Build positive working relationships with clients through proactive communication, commitment to service, and flexibility to address shifting priorities.
Effectively interact with people of all technical skill levels through verbal and written communication.
Minimum of eight years civil engineering experience, preferably in a consultative capacity with a focus on transportation.
Relevant experience on the North American continent.
Professional Engineer license.
A sound understanding of project management practice.
Experience in urban and rural highway interchanges, planning of multi-modal corridors, transportation planning, active transportation, and complex intersections.
Demonstrated success managing project teams and related staff from design through construction.
Proven experience coaching and mentoring design staff.
Effective management of project designs and deliveries, leading to professional growth and development.
Strong interpersonal skills leading to positive relationships with clients and communities.
Proven track record of completing assignments on time and within budget.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical subject matter to diverse audiences.
