Title: Part-time Student-UX Designer-Ames IA - 75207

The position for John Deere Financial (JDF) is located at the ISU Research Park (Iowa State University-ISU, Ames IA).

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-time Student-UX Designer for John Deere Financial (JDF) located in Ames, Iowa, you will be responsible for developing mock-ups, wireframes and prototypes to effectively communicate designs to product owners and development teams. In addition you will:

  • Create and maintain project and overall system design artifacts

  • Work with the ISU development team along with JDF product teams to ensure that new features are implemented according to specifications

  • Have effective task management for projects given from product teams and UX mentor

  • This opportunity can be used as your design internship requirement for ISU course credit work

    What Skills You Need

  • Ideally, you will be pursuing a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Design focus: Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Computer Science

  • Research focus: Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors (Industrial Engineering), Computer Science

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at Iowa State University

  • Must be able to commute to work at the ISU Research Park (on the bus route)

  • Minimum of junior in undergrad program or currently in graduate program

  • Graduation date of 2023 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • 8-15 hours/week during the academic year

  • Up to 40 hours/week during the summer semesters and school breaks

  • Exposure to a minimum of one design tool: Adobe, Figma, Sketch, and InVision

  • Demonstrates ability to deliver clean and usable interfaces while applying visual brand guidelines

  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate

  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation and intrapersonal skills
