Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for a full-time, term faculty Lecturer position for one year, Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 semesters, with possibility of renewal.
Teaching expectations are to prepare and deliver undergraduate courses in Sustainable Wood Utilization (Forestry 202, FALL), Integrated Forestry Lab (Forestry 205 , FALL), Wood Properties and ID (Forestry 280, SPRING), and Controversies in Natural Resources (NREM 460, FALL, SPRING). The position will also include participating in recruitment and orientation efforts within the department, and undergraduate student advising. This position requires exceptional public speaking and presentation skills.
Successful candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills and share in our commitment to achieving excellence through diversity and inclusion.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Forestry or related field.
PhD in Forestry or related field.
Higher education teaching experience.
Experience with academic advising.
Department/Program & College Description:
The formation of the ISU Natural Resource Ecology and Management (NREM) Department through the merger of the Animal Ecology and Forestry Departments was established to continue and enhance the growth of our programs in forestry, fisheries, wildlife, and wood science; providing the platform for building new programs.
