Renewable Energy Group Intern, CFIB in Ames, Iowa
Our comprehensive, 12-week paid internship program gives you the opportunity to test your skills working for the nation’s leading producer of cleaner fuels and developer of renewable chemicals. This internship will begin May 17, 2021 and end August 7, 2021. REG values our interns. Our hopes are to host you in person, but with the potential of being remote like we committed to in the summer of 2020.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the analysis of the existing business units as well as the evaluation of potential business development opportunities such as mergers and acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Key Accountabilities:
Analysis Function
•Develop financial models and analytical support for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking
•Perform business unit and financial analysis
•Formulating recommendations based upon conducted analysis
•Relate profitability, capital markets financing activities, acquisitions, and strategic planning
Special Projects
•Design and implementation of key business projects
•Conducting industry, market, and international research
•Analyzing research results – both quantitatively and qualitatively, in written and presentation form
•Properly documenting and supporting your research and analysis
•Developing materials for internal and external meetings
•Participate in project discussions and due diligence meetings
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Be available for daily work and overtime as required
Communicate effectively with co-workers (oral and written)
Demonstrate attention to detail
Ability to use office equipment (computer, copy/fax machine, telephone, postage meter, etc.)
Organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines
Strong analytical, research, writing and communication skills
Work independently or with others as a team to complete assigned projects
Provide suggestions to offer alternative perspectives to situations
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree – Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree
**Senior or Junior status required
Experience Required: Financial analysis and analytical business experience preferred
**Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred
Skills Required:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
Advanced math, finance, and accounting skills
Strong analytical research
